
SANDAKAN: A crocodile was captured by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) at Kampung Tinusa 2 early Thursday morning.
According to Sandakan District Civil Defence Officer Sulaiman Salama, the reptile was spotted under a bridge by a resident who was tidying his boat when he noticed it entangled in a rope.
Fearing for the safety of the community, the resident immediately contacted the MERS 999 emergency line for assistance.

The one-and-a-half-metre crocodile, weighing approximately 16 kilograms, was safely restrained within 45 minutes using rope, snares, and a blanket, and will be handed over to the Wildlife Department for further action.
