Croutons sold at Kroger recalled over contamination concerns

  • Kroger Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons have been recalled due to potential salmonella contamination.
  • The recall is linked to a dry milk powder ingredient, supplied by California Dairies, Inc., which was previously recalled in April for possible salmonella contamination and used in the crouton seasoning.
  • The affected five-ounce crouton pouches, with specific UPC and Use By Dates, were distributed to Kroger stores across 17 states.
  • Sugar Foods LLC, the producer, issued the recall as a precautionary measure, and no illnesses related to the croutons have been reported so far.
  • Consumers are advised to dispose of the recalled products or return them to the place of purchase for a refund, with salmonella symptoms including diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps.
