A nationwide recall has been issued for select lots of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold through Walmart stores and the company’s website after concerns over possible salmonella contamination linked to a dairy ingredient supplier.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall was announced voluntarily by Blackstone Products on May 15, 2026. No illnesses connected to the seasoning have been reported so far.

The affected product is Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold in 7.3-ounce containers. The recall applies only to three specific lots distributed across the United States. Officials are urging consumers not to use the seasoning and to discard it immediately.

The issue did not originate from testing of the seasoning itself. Instead, according to the FDA notice, Blackstone Products acted after California Dairies, Inc. recalled dry milk powder that had the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. That milk powder was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used as an ingredient in the seasoning product.

Specific Lot Numbers Affected by the Recall

The recall covers Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning labeled with the following lot numbers and “best if used by” dates:

  • Lot number 2025-43282 with a best-by date of July 2, 2027
  • Lot number 2025-46172 with a best-by date of August 5, 2027
  • Lot number 2026-54751 with a best-by date of August 12, 2027

According to the FDA announcement, the products were sold nationwide exclusively through Walmart stores and on the Blackstone Products website. The lot numbers and expiration dates can be found on the bottom of the packaging.

Blackstone Products stated that customers who purchased the recalled seasoning should not consume it under any circumstances. Consumers are instead advised to dispose of the product immediately. The company has also established a customer support line for replacement requests and additional questions. Customers can contact Blackstone Products at 1-888-879-4610 during weekday business hours.

The FDA noted that the recall remains precautionary at this stage. No confirmed cases of illness linked to the seasoning had been identified at the time the announcement was published.

Salmonella Infections Remain a Significant Public Health Concern

Salmonella is one of the most common causes of foodborne illness in the United States. According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the bacteria are responsible for an estimated 1.35 million infections, 26,500 hospitalizations, and roughly 420 deaths annually in the country.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that symptoms of salmonella infection usually appear between six hours and six days after exposure. Common symptoms include diarrhea, fever, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. Most cases resolve within four to seven days without medical treatment.

Still, health officials warn that some infections can become more severe. According to the FDA recall notice, salmonella may lead to bloodstream infections in rare cases, potentially causing arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis.

Certain groups face a higher risk ofsevere illness, including young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Medical attention is recommended for individuals experiencing prolonged diarrhea, dehydration, high fever, or symptoms that worsen over time. Federal officials continue to advise consumers to check packaging carefully and dispose of any affected seasoning products if the listed lot numbers match those included in the recall notice.
