Evra announced he was spending time at United on Instagram, when he described how wearing the coaching kit made him 'one of the most happy' men.
The charismatic Frenchman has made various appearances as a pundit since retiring, but has been working on his coaching badges since 2013.
Evra has been quoted on his ambitions to lead a team 'in the next year and a half'.
