UFC Freedom 250 has already taken on a unique feel, with the White House venue forcing the promotion to rethink the economics behind a major card.
Adding to the intrigue is Alex Pereira’s heavyweight clash with Ciryl Gane. Pereira, a two-division UFC champion, is chasing a third belt, something no one has ever done in the promotion.
With the card being built around invited guests rather than ticket sales, the UFC has had to balance spectacle and commercial reality. However, they could not avoid paying the Brazilian star according to the size of the show he is set to provide.
Daniel Cormier appears to reveal Alex Pereira’s $10 million UFC Freedom 250 payday

The biggest figure attached to Pereira’s fight may have slipped out during a conversation with Daniel Cormier on Pereira’s YouTube channel.
While the pair were discussing a bet, ‘Poatan’ suggested putting $20,000 on the line. The 47-year-old American declined, then seemingly explained why Pereira could afford it more than anyone else on the card.
“You’re the only one fighter at the White House making $10 million,” ‘DC’ said.
That comment could add to scrutiny around how the UFC is handling purses. Jon Jones was reportedly seeking $20 million to fight ‘Poatan’ at the White House, while the promotion held firm at $15 million.
Pereira’s reported figure highlights his growing value. While Jones slowed down his career a few years ago, the Brazilian has become one of the UFC’s biggest names with a quick rise.
If Cormier’s information is right, that explains why ‘Poatan’ repeatedly said publicly he is happy with his current eight-fight contract.
