Danny Ings is not setting any targets for Aston Villa this season.
Villa secured their first win of the Premier League season over Everton last weekend.
They face Crystal Palace this week, and Ings is taking it game by game.
Ings told the Express & Star: "I think it is a little bit early to look at where we are going to end up.
"Week-to-week football is very much up and down. You saw that at Bournemouth with our performance (on the opening day), which wasn't anywhere near good enough.
"On Saturday against Everton we worked hard to get three points. It is such a tough league, for us the aim is to improve every week and if we do that we know we will get higher up the table."
