KUALA PILAH – DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has once again named Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun as Pakatan Harapan's (PH) Menteri Besar candidate should the coalition win the Negeri Sembilan state election on Aug 1.
Loke said that although he serves as a federal minister, Aminuddin, who is PH Negeri Sembilan chairman, is his leader in the state.
"In Negeri Sembilan, our poster boy is clear. We have only one Menteri Besar candidate and only one campaign commander – Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
"Although I am a minister at the federal level, in Negeri Sembilan my boss is Tok Min (Aminuddin). I fully support him as our candidate," he said during PH's candidate announcement ceremony here on Tuesday.
He said the state government under Aminuddin's administration has demonstrated a strong track record since PH took over the state government in 2018.
Loke, who is also DAP Negeri Sembilan chairman, reminded all PH leaders, members and campaign workers to be mindful of their words and to respect Negeri Sembilan's customs and royal institutions throughout the campaign to prevent any issues from being exploited.
"I also want to emphasise that DAP upholds the principles of the Federal Constitution, the constitutional monarchy system and the Rukun Negara.
"The entire DAP leadership and membership remain loyal to the constitutional monarchy system in Negeri Sembilan," he said.
He also stressed that the party remains loyal to the state's Undang Yang Empat, the Tunku Besar of Tampin and Negeri Sembilan's customary system.
"There is no Fifth Undang in Negeri Sembilan. So I want to remind our friends, campaign workers and party members to conduct themselves with proper decorum and respect. Do not joke or make light of Negeri Sembilan's customary system," he said.
