Kota Kinabalu: Data usage and research are important in formulating effective policies to ensure the continued wellbeing of the people, said Sabah Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

He said this during a meeting with the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) Sabah to discuss the state’s development direction and economic strategies at his office here.

The meeting focused on research findings and policy proposals presented by IDS Sabah to strengthen more structured and high-impact development planning.

Masidi also stressed the need to empower Sabah’s local products as a key economic driver, including improving quality, branding and marketability at both domestic and international levels.

He expressed hope that strategic collaboration between the State Government and IDS Sabah would continue to be strengthened to ensure policies deliver comprehensive benefits to the people.
