KUALA PILAH – “Daulat Tuanku, tangkap penderhaka” chants echoed at the Tuanku Munawir Royal Mosque here as Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir departed after Friday prayers.
Tuanku Muhriz was accompanied by his two sons, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin and Tunku Panglima Besar Negeri Sembilan Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin.
Before departing, Tuanku Muhriz received a memorandum pledging loyalty and support from Professor Dr Mohd Aluwi Sari, head of the Secretariat for Loyalty and Support for the 11th Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
Among the 10 positions outlined in the memorandum were calls to uphold the royal institution, the Federal Constitution and Adat Perpatih, while safeguarding peace and harmony among the people of Negeri Sembilan.
Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) was urged, together with the authorities and state government, to provide clarification based on official records on disputed matters concerning Adat Perpatih.
“People of Negeri Sembilan have the right to know the facts. We urge the DKU to hold a special press conference on the ongoing dispute.
“Do not leave the people to rely on rumours, unverified videos or statements by individuals who lack the authority and understanding of Adat Perpatih in the state,” the memorandum stated.
More than 500 people attended Friday prayers at the mosque, while Undang Luak Sungei Ujong Muhammad Faris Johari and Undang Luak Rembau Hassan Ab Hamid were among those present.
After Friday prayers, Tuanku Muhriz, together with his sons, presented contributions to children, as is his usual practice.
