
World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of DAV Public School, Mohal, Kullu, in collaboration with GB Pant Institute, Mohal. A total of 40 students participated in various activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness. The students showcased their creativity and speaking skills through painting and declamation competitions. Participants including Viraj, Aishvi, Yogesh, Tania, Vashvi, Ambika, Kartik, Lagpa Sherpa, Shivanshi and Harshita performed remarkably well, with several students securing winning positions in different categories. The celebrations also included a plantation drive by the Eco Club at the PWD Rest House, Mohal, where students planted saplings and took a pledge to protect and preserve nature for future generations. An awareness rally was organised by the students of classes XI and XII. Young learners enthusiastically joined the celebrations as Nursery, LKG, and UKG students observed Green Day by dressing in green and participating in eco-friendly activities at Nature Park. Students of classes I to V presented poems highlighting the importance of nature conservation, while students of classes VI to VIII participated in a slogan-writing competition. Painting competitions were conducted for students of classes IX and X. Addressing the students, Principal RS Rana emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and urged students to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
