Dave Portnoy believes he can play as a striker for a ‘great World Cup team’
Since the start of the 2026 World Cup, Portnoy has been very active on his social media accounts, offering a variety of takes on the tournament.
While fans have agreed with some, one of his most controversial takes was claiming he could score a couple of goals as a striker on a ‘great World Cup team.’
“I feel like I could score a couple goals a game if you put me as the striker on a great World Cup team. All they do is feed their best player endlessly,” Portnoy tweeted earlier.
The tweet went viral and garnered over 8 million views on X as fans called him out for this ridiculous take. Portnoy later offered a clarification, explaining he was talking about his younger self and not his current version.
