World Cup co-hosts Canada will have Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies available for their second group stage match against Qatar on Thursday.

"He's been training this week and will be available. We'll see how the game goes and how we use him," coach Jesse Marsch said in a news conference on Wednesday.

Davies suffered a torn muscle in the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain in May and missed the 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzergovina.

"We've been working very closely with his physical therapists. He looks really good. He's ready," Marsch said.

Canada are second in Group B. Switzerland top the standings but all nations are tied on one point.
