Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal today held a meeting with representatives of various political parties regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which begins across the district on June 25.

Mittal announced that training for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) would take place from June 15 to June 24. She urged all political parties to immediately appoint BLAs for every polling booth to ensure the exercise remains transparent, inclusive and error-free.

“The revision process aligns strictly with Election Commission guidelines,” Mittal said. “Active participation from political parties is crucial to ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of our electoral rolls. While BLOs are already conducting field-level verifications, BLAs can coordinate with them to help identify and fix any discrepancies in voter details,” she said.

The Deputy Commissioner urged party representatives to submit their BLA lists at the earliest, noting that BLOs have already completed 66.03% of the voter pre-mapping data.

Highlighting the rapid urbanisation in SAS Nagar, Mittal emphasized that special attention must be given to verifying every vote registered after 2003 to ensure absolute accuracy.
