The district administration has finalised all arrangements for the upcoming Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections scheduled for Tuesday. Polling parties, equipped with essential election materials, were officially dispatched to their respective stations today.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr Sona Thind assured that elaborate measures were in place to guarantee a free, fair and transparent polling process across the district. Appealing to citizens to vote without fear, pressure or inducement, Dr Thind urged the public to maintain peace and strictly adhere to the election code.

To safeguard voting rights and maintain strict law and order, the administration has deployed a robust workforce comprising 1,057 civil employees and officers, alongside 870 police personnel.

Out of the 141 total polling booths established across the district, 50 have been flagged as sensitive and 21 as highly sensitive. Dr Thind noted that these specific locations would receive reinforced security arrangements.
