Today’s world, social media has become something so normal that people wonder “where you come from”if you are not on social media. However, there are a bad side of social media that everyone should be aware of.
Bullying can and will also take place on social media. This bullying is done by those with hidden or fake identity, where by they pass aggressive comments, harrass or threat another individual.
This should never be looked at as something simple as the after effect of bullying is still seen, eventhough it is only happening “through the screen”.
The people behind this is widely known as “keyboard warriors”. They do not care to say or pass comments to other individuals, as it makes them feel a sense of empowerment.
In my opinion, they do this maybe because they have an identity insecurity or they get a satisfaction from feeling high and mighty. Whatever the reason may be, it is wrong.
Therefore, possible victims should always choose to ignore. But how do we do that? “Saying is always easier than doing”.
My suggestion would be to not respond immediately. Try to think precisely and make a valid reply. However, having a healthy argument on social media with a keyboard warrior is beneficial to none. Better to not even reply. Just do not give them your time and energy.
Next, try to not prolong it into a big issue. If it itches you to send a reply, then try sending a reply that fixes the issue, rather than starting a conversation with the keyboard warrior which will lead to more unwanted issues. This will give them the sense of importance, where they start being more aggressive.
But thankfully, social media platforms now are getting better in monitoring and controlling terrible comments made by these keyboard warriors.
