In a statement, on 9 Sept 2026, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said he had lodged a police report at about 6pm on 8 Sept 2026 to enable the authorities to investigate the matter that he signed a proclamation concerning the position of Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, unwillingly and under duress.
Based on news report, it appeared that the complaint is very straightforward.
That the complainant complained that he was `forced or coerced into’ signing the Proclamation.
Forced or coerced obviously meant he signed it against his own free will i.e he did not agree nor consented to the contents stated in the Proclamation.
On 15 Sept 2026, the Home Minister told reporters that PDRM had received 2 reports and was classifying the case to determine the scope of the investigation.

In the statement on 9 Sept 2026, the Mentri Besar said he lodged A police report at about 6pm on 8 Sept 2026.
Soon, it will be the 3rd week of October 2026.
Meaning it has been more than 1.5 months already since the Mentri Besar of Negeri Sembilan lodged a report with the police.
The central accusation of the report is about physical and psychological coercion (duress) and not document forgery or a cyberattack that might require assistance from cybersecurity or digital forensics experts.
Because the Mentri Besar openly admitted that the signature on the physical proclamation paper belongs to him, there is no digital fabrication or deepfake to decrypt.
The police simply need to establish the physical environment and pressure under which he signed.
Even the DPM Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi noted early on that the allegations needed to be verified directly by the lawyers and officials who were physically present during the signing ceremony.
On 27 Sept 2026, it was reported that you said police will record statements from 10 Negri Sembilan state executive council members beginning 28 Sept 2026 as part of investigations into an issue involving customary laws and the state constitution.
Not only the public is anxious for the police to conclude and report its findings.
Probably, the Yang di Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan is also waiting for the outcome of the investigations by the police into the report.
