Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha on Saturday felicitated several police personnel for acts of exceptional courage, outstanding investigation and exemplary public service. During the ceremony, the Commissioner conferred out-of-turn promotions on constable Angad Singh Meena and Manish Kumar of Mehrauli police station (South District), elevating them to the rank of Head Constable (Executive).
The promotions were granted in recognition of their bravery during a building collapse in south Delhi on May 30, when both officers reportedly entered deep into the debris at considerable personal risk to rescue trapped persons and assist in evacuation efforts, saving several lives.
