Delhi Minister for Social Welfare, SC/ST/OBC Welfare and MLA from Bawana, Ravinder Indraj Singh on Saturday laid the foundation stone for projects to construct streets and drains worth Rs 18 crore in Prakash Vihar, Shahbad Extension-II.

The project, being undertaken by the Irrigation and Flood Control Department under the Chief Minister Development Fund (CMDF), aims to improve civic infrastructure and strengthen the area’s drainage system.

Addressing residents, Singh said the Bawana Assembly constituency had suffered from a lack of development over the years, resulting in several civic issues. “The lack of development works over a prolonged period had resulted in several basic civic challenges. The present government is continuously working towards providing permanent solutions to these issues and development projects are being launched and inaugurated across different parts of the constituency,” he said.

Improving essential services, including roads, drains, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, education and transportation facilities across the constituency was the government’s major focus, he added.
