After witnessing the catastrophic move of removing the iconic ‘XPS’ branding from its laptop, Dell has “admitted that it’s kind of dumb”, so yeah, XPS laptops will start shipping once again.
The XPS 14 and XPS 16 are said to carry better design and performance alongside gorgeous displays and portability. To start, the unibody chassis comes with structural side walls built into the base for a slimmer yet tougher build. They are made with premium materials like CNC aluminum and Gorilla Glass.
The brand also made little optimizations and revamps here and there, such as putting the XPS logo on the front cover, summoning the F row back into existence, refining over key travel for the keyboard, and adding subtle etching for the glass touchpad – you know the deal.
For computing, we see the use of Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with Arc graphics, which makes them very powerful, while the use of the large and thin fans creates a cool and quiet system – all within a 14.6mm thick chassis.
Both models can be configured with OLED panels for cinematic visuals and vibrant colors, or with 2K LCD panels that prioritize battery efficiency without sacrificing sharpness. This is sort of tied to the battery life, too, as the 2K LCD option delivers up to 27 hours of Netflix streaming or over 40 hours of local video playback.
Surprisingly, the new models are better in terms of sustainability, featuring an easy-to-remove keyboard for repairs, ecycled steel in the hinges, and recycled cobalt and copper in the batteries, and meeting the latest EPEAT 2.0 standards.
Availability
The Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 will be reaching the local market at the end of January 2026. Both models will arrive first in Graphite, with the Shimmer color option coming later in the year.
