Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer accepted the Bundesliga trophy amid a flurry of red and white confetti on Saturday but quickly handed it to Leon Goretzka, who lifted the Meisterschale in his home farewell after eight years at the club.

But lifting the trophy first was surpassed by another moment for the Germany international, who has yet to announce his next move.

"The special moment for me was when I was standing by the South Stand speaking with the fans and they gave me something to take with me. That simply showed me that I was and am part of the family here. I'm proud of that," Goretzka said.

The obligatory beer showers followed after Bayern had rounded off the Bundesliga season with a 5-1 triumph over Cologne. Harry Kane scored another hat-trick to end the season as league top scorer for a third campaign with 36 goals.

He beamed as he was handed the top-scorer trophy at the Allianz Arena.

The England captain is the first player ever to finish as the Bundesliga's top scorer in each of his first three seasons. He has scored 98 times in 93 Bundesliga appearances.

Team mate Michael Olise was also awarded the Bundesliga player of the season gong for his 19 assists and 15 goals.

The Bavarians had long secured a 35th German league title but will now regroup for the German Cup final against VfB Stuttgart next Saturday in Berlin as they look to wrap up a double.

Their treble hopes ended with a Champions League semi-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

"We were very consistent and at a very high level this season," Bayern's Germany captain Joshua Kimmich told DAZN.

"A lot of things were good. Of course the Champions League still weighs on us. Next week we still have an important match. We will go into the Cup final fully focused."

Bayern's men will also celebrate the title at the city's main square and town hall on Sunday, with the Bayern women's double winners having the honour on Monday.

Goretzka can enjoy another party and still might have an impact in the Cup final, after which Raphaël Guerreiro and Nicolas Jackson will also depart the club.

"Some deserving players will leave us," chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said.
