DepEd activates Oplan Balik Eskwela

THE Department of Education (DepEd) will launch the National Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) on June 1, a week ahead of school opening day.

“We are ensuring, together with various agencies of the government, that our learners’ return to school will be safe, organized and smooth,” Education Secretary Sonny Angara said in a statement.

The DepEd is collaborating with several agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Department of Health and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority for Balik Eskewla.

Angara said utility providers Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) and Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System have finalized oversight measures to guarantee uninterrupted power and water services to all schools.

“To process public feedback efficiently, the OBE Public Assistance Command Center will open public hotlines, emails and social media channels to handle public grievances in real time,” Angara said. REINA TOLENTINO
