As anticipation mounts for the forthcoming by-election in Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB), Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk R. Ramanan, also serving as the PKR Deputy Information Chief, underscores the pivotal role of the chairman of the United Rights of Malaysian Party (Urimai) in ensuring the selection of adept leadership crucial for propelling developmental agendas within the constituency. Ramanan stresses that should the campaign result in the election of an unsuitable candidate, the former Penang Deputy Chief Minister, Ramasamy, must shoulder the responsibility and be prepared to address constituents' concerns as they arise.

Expressing apprehension over the common tendency of elected officials to cite governmental limitations in assisting constituents due to constraints in authority or resources, Ramanan queries whether Ramasamy would be willing to step in to aid residents should their elected representative, not aligned with the Unity Government, prove ineffective in addressing their needs. These sentiments were articulated during a press briefing following the Sembang Santai Vanakam MADANI event, which provided a platform for KKB residents to engage with the Unity Government.

Ramasamy's campaign, already underway, urges voters to reject Pakatan Harapan (PH), setting the stage for a spirited contest in the upcoming by-election. The electoral landscape of KKB reflects a multifaceted contest, with candidates representing Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN), Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM), and an Independent contender vying for victory. The by-election, necessitated by the unfortunate demise of the incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, from DAP, due to cancer on March 21, underscores the significance of selecting a new representative capable of championing the constituency's interests effectively.

Marked on the electoral calendar for May 7 and May 11, early voting and polling, respectively, will determine the constituency's new steward. Vanakam MADANI, a strategic initiative aimed at fostering engagement with the Indian community and facilitating direct dialogue with the Unity Government, underscores concerted efforts to ensure community participation and informed decision-making in the electoral process.
