Post-mortems shed light on Desa ParkCity family deaths
PETALING JAYA: Two children died from stab wounds to the neck in the Desa ParkCity tragedy in Kepong that claimed the lives of four family members on Thursday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said post-mortem examinations found that the nine-year-old girl died from a stab wound to the neck.

“The post-mortem was conducted yesterday from 9am to noon.
“For the children’s mother, the examination carried out from about 2pm to 7.30pm found that she died from injuries caused by a sharp object to the neck and chest,” he said in a statement today.
Fadil said the seven-year-old boy also died from a stab wound to the neck, based on the post-mortem conducted yesterday.
The examination on the boy was carried out from 2pm to 5pm.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem on the 48-year-old father, who was also found dead in the incident, was scheduled to take place today after forensic officers completed their examination at the scene.
Fadil said the Kuala Lumpur Hospital forensic team, together with Royal Malaysia Police personnel, were at the scene this morning to conduct further examinations.
He said claims contained in a note allegedly left by the father concerning a love scam, including the alleged involvement of a scammer and losses and debts totalling about RM260,000, remained under investigation.
“The chronology of the incident, as well as the allegation that the suspect acted alone in killing his wife and two children before taking his own life, are also still being investigated,” he said.
Fadil said none of the four bodies had yet been claimed by their families.
He said the remains would only be released after the post-mortem on the father was completed, which was expected at about 6pm today.
“The family is aware of the love scam issue and the family was also caught up in illegal investment activities,” he said.
Police previously reported receiving a distress call at about 3.32pm concerning a 48-year-old local man who was found dead at the condominium.
A 47-year-old woman, believed to be his wife, and their two children, a nine-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, were subsequently found dead inside the unit.
All three victims were found to have suffered serious injuries to the neck.
