Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s progress cannot be measured solely by physical development, economic growth or technological advancement, but must be accompanied by the development of knowledgeable, principled and responsible people, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW showed that society must develop comprehensively by strengthening brotherhood, safeguarding community welfare and making justice a foundation of communal life.
“The Prophet demonstrated that the strength of leadership lies not merely in authority, but in the ability to build trust, uphold justice and bring benefits to society,” he said at the Sabah State-Level Maulidur Rasul SAW Celebration 1448H/2026M at the Sabah International Convention Centre here Tuesday.
Hajiji said the State Government remained committed to ensuring development benefited the people as widely as possible and was inclusive of communities in both urban and rural areas.
He also urged Sabahans to safeguard the State’s long-standing unity and harmony, saying differences in views, beliefs or backgrounds should not strain relations, while young people should use social media and digital technology to gain knowledge, develop skills, improve productivity and spread beneficial content.
