The German Football Federation (DFB) on Monday dismissed speculation that Germany's World Cup players may be able to spend a day off with their families in New York.

Sources told dpa that coach Julian Nagelsmann was mulling staying in the area after their final group match on Thursday against Ecuador in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and not return to their North Carolina base camp.

In this scenario the players could have spent their family day on Saturday in New York. Family day is two days after each match and it will take place at their Winston-Salem base camp, the DFB said.

The DFB said on Monday the only change of plans will be that the team will fly to Boston for their round of 32 match scheduled for Monday one day in advance and not two.

Germany are confirmed as group winners and also play their round of 32 match on the East Coast on Monday in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The DFB also has no plans to give up the Winston-Salem camp, even though a potential last 16 match would be in Philadelphia and a quarter-final would see them return to Foxborough. If Germany go all the way the semi-final would be in Arlington, Texas and the final in East Rutherford.
