Here are some of the entertainment performances the DFP has planned for the next few months

Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), located in the middle of the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, will present exciting concerts from March to May 2024. It once more provides a showcase of music excellence and vibrancy of all music genres that grace the stage.image is not available

The Usual Suspects

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will present the traditional tunes of ‘keroncong’ and ‘ghazal’ on Saturday, 2 March 2024 at 8.30 pm. Themed Simfoni Budaya, the concert will be helmed by conductor Ahmad Muriz Che Rose and will feature legendary singer Dato’ Yusni Hamid together with young artists Haziq Rosebi and Asmidar.image is not available

Next, the MPO will present a specially-curated selection of successful classical-pop crossovers in a concert themed The Classics In Pops on Saturday, 16 March 2024 at 8.30 pm. Resident Conductor Gerard Salonga will lead the concert which offers a good introduction to those with a keen interest in this genre.

International Fun

Renowned maestro Rossen Gergov will lead the MPO to present a concert for classical music enthusiasts on Saturday, 23 March 2024 at 8.30 pm. The concert will open with Glinka’s Russlan And Ludmilla Overture, followed by Zubitsky’s Omaggio ad Astor Piazzolla which will feature Ukrainian accordion player Alexander Hrustevich.image is not available

Fun For The Whole Family

An MPO family-themed concert is scheduled on Saturday, 4 May 2024 at 11.30 am. Presenter/narrator Alasdair Malloy returns to the hall in a musical journey with the MPO themed Mission Earth, discovering the wonders of nature, the weather and animals. Young Malaysian conductor Jebat Kee will lead the MPO in this interactive ecology themed concert.image is not available

Local singing sensation Aina Abdul makes her debut on the DFP stage with the MPO on Saturday, 11 May 2024 at 8.30 pm. The MPO will give fresh symphonic interpretations of her hits such as Puas Sudah, Semalam, Sesal, Kamu, Kejam, Imaji, Bilang and Terus Hidup, complemented with her powerful vocals. Ahmad Muriz Che Rose will lead the MPO in a showcase celebrating the pop music of Malaysia.
