DHSUD, shelter agencies go full blast on expanded 4PH

THE Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and its key shelter agencies (KSAs) continue to intensify the implementation of the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program following simultaneous housing initiatives in Valenzuela City and Naic, Cavite.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said on Tuesday that the housing department and the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) awarded more than P47 million in housing assistance to a homeowners’ association in Valenzuela City under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP).

Meanwhile, Aliling said National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai led the groundbreaking of two major housing projects in Naic, Cavite.

“The initiatives underscored the administration’s whole-of-government approach in delivering inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered housing programs for Filipino families,” the DHSUD chief said.

In Valenzuela, Aliling and SHFC President Federico Laxa led the turnover of checks amounting to more than P47 million to the Archangel Sword II Homeowners’ Association, Inc. in Barangay Lawang Bato.

The financial assistance will support the acquisition of the land currently occupied by the community’s 256 member-beneficiaries, many of whom have lived in the area for nearly two decades. ARLIE CALALO

Since the revival of the ECMP under the 4PH program, SHFC has approved 45 projects benefiting more than 7,700 families nationwide, with several communities already receiving financial assistance for land acquisition, Laxa said.

Meanwhile, in Naic, Cavite, DHSUD and NHA officials broke ground for the Naic View Residences Phase 2 and Glori Mor Ville Phase 2 projects, both located in Barangay Calubcob.

Once completed, the projects will provide a total of 590 housing units intended for families affected by the Supreme Court Mandamus Program for Manila Bay rehabilitation and those displaced by government infrastructure projects, the housing czar said.

The event also included the awarding of land titles to qualified beneficiaries of NHA housing programs, including recipients of fully paid house-and-lot units and lot-only allocations, NHA Assistant General Manager Alvin Feliciano said.

Aliling highlighted how DHSUD and its KSAs continue to uplift the lives of Filipino families through secure, resilient and dignified communities.
