- Fellow Labour MP Joani Reid was also readmitted to the party on Thursday evening, having voluntarily suspended herself in March.
- Ms Reid's suspension followed the arrest of her husband on suspicion of spying for China, though she clarified she was never part of a police investigation herself.
- Both Ms Abbott and Ms Reid have had the Labour whip restored, allowing them to sit as Labour MPs once more.
