THE Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said it will request an initial budget of P2.70 billion for 2027 to fund the eGovPH app and other digitalization programs.
The eGovPH app is the country’s official one-stop mobile platform that unifies national and local government services into a single platform.
Developed by the DICT, it streamlines public transactions, reducing bureaucratic red tape and allowing citizens to access services and store digital IDs directly from their smartphones.
Of the P2.70 billion, about P800 million is earmarked for the app’s development alone, DICT Undersecretary David Almirol told reporters at the agency’s EGOV Hackathon event in Taguig.
The remainder of the proposed budget will go toward digitalization initiatives, including cloud services, sustainability efforts, cybersecurity measures, and staff salaries.
Almirol said the budget aligns with Republic Act 12254, or the E-Governance Act, and is separate from other government allocations.
The eGovPH app has so far recorded 61 million downloads and over 900 million transactions, said the DICT.
The app integrates 1,332 government e-services across 95 service modules, covering health, education, employment, travel, tourism, local government transactions, public safety, financial services, social protection, citizen assistance, and digital identity.
The DICT also highlighted related platforms under the eGovPH umbrella. For instance, the eGov Data Exchange Platform (eGovDX) has processed more than 950 million transactions as of June.
Likewise, through eVerify, more than 92 million digital national IDs have been issued, supporting over 300 million digital identity transactions.
In addition, eGovAI has logged more than 200 million transactions and 10 million users, offering translation, document extraction, electronic identity verification, and assistance with government laws and regulations.
