New details have come to light about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ reported hospitalization over the weekend.
According to TMZ, the disgraced music mogul was left with a head injury after he got into a fight with convicted drug lord known as Dudus.
Combs, 56, was reportedly treated at the hospital for a non life-threatening injury and taken back that night to the Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey, where he is serving 50 months behind bars after he was convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution last July.
The reported altercation occurred Friday night after Dudus, whose real name is Christopher Coke, confronted Combs about getting their fellow inmates in trouble, according to TMZ.
Dudus and other inmates were reportedly “pissed” that Combs was exposed by a recent NBC News report for allegedly living a lavish life in prison that included using a contraband phone and drugs.
The outlet said that after the bombshell report, prison officials raided the facility twice and confiscated cell phones from Dudus and other inmates, leaving them furious.
Dudus, a kingpin who was arrested on drug charges and extradited to the U.S. from Jamaica in 2010, has been serving a 23-year prison sentence since 2012.
The Independent has reached out to Combs’ representatives for comment.
Regarding Combs’ hospitalization, a spokesperson for rapper previously told The Independent: “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances. Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”
