KUALA LUMPUR: The one and only Coldplay just had their very first concert in Malaysia last Wednesday (Nov 22)!
The show began with a support act, Bunga Isme, our talented local singer. She was both excited and nervous about being the opening act for Coldplay's show. However, 4 months of hard work paid off! She amazed the crowd with her beautiful voice in a span of 20 minutes with the songs, Intan Payung, Apadehal, Jiwaragam Belai, and Buai.
Then came the moment that fans had been waiting for months, or even years, for Coldplay to perform in Kuala Lumpur. From "Music of the Spheres" to "A Wave," Coldplay has amazed us with their magnificent performances, which also make them the most attended concert in history, attracting more than 75,000 fans.

Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, stated that the band has been waiting for 27 years to perform in our beautiful country, and they are grateful to our government and all the crews for making tonight's show happen.
During the “Something Just Like This” performance, Chris Martin showed up wearing an “alien head” and a shirt that said “EVERYONE IS AN ALIEN SOMEWHERE." You might think it's silly, but it’s a beautiful song with the message, “We don’t have to be extraordinary to love someone; rather, ordinary is the deepest and purest form of love." And do you want to know what is more beautiful? Is the fact that Chris Martin performed the song in sign language instead of singing it to show everyone the beauty of love.

Chris Martin then began “My Universe” in a beautiful way by asking the audience to “think of somebody you love and say, you, you’re my universe." How lucky it is to be in the crowd and hear such a heartwarming ment and song!

During “A Sky Full of Stars," Chris Martin “pranked” the audience by stopping the song right before the chorus and saying, “Terima kasih, thank you so much for coming." However, he was actually joking and intended to ask the audience to turn off their phones and just enjoy the music to the fullest. With the LED lighting on the wristband and the surprising fireworks, it has successfully made the night the most beautiful thing ever to happen in KL. “You’re such a heavenly view, all of you, all of you,” wraps up the enchanting performance.

Before singing “Sparks,” Coldplay mentioned that the song will be performed in loving memory of Jade, a girl who was supposed to attend the show but sadly passed away just days prior. They then requested the crowd to raise their hands in the shape of a heart and said, “Send it anywhere; just send your love; create this magical energy; and we have to share it, just for 10 seconds." The performance then concluded with stunning fireworks. Hope Jade enjoys this special moment that belongs to her up there!

Despite having to perform in the rain for the entire show, Chris Martin sang a special one-time song for us in KL, a Kuala Lumpur song. He began the song by saying, “I’ve been to Europe, I’ve been to Spain, but there’s nothing quite as beautiful as the Malaysian rain,” followed by the chorus: “Malaysian rain, oh Malaysian rain, just how beautiful Malaysian rain.” What a gifted singer to make the rain show into such a wonderful song!

During one of the most anticipated performances, “Fix You," some of the audience used this life-time opportunity to propose to their loved ones. Just look at how beautiful the crowd was, isn’t it pleasing to have someone to share this precious moment with you?

All of these meaningful performances prove why they're the most-attended concert ever in Bukit Jalil National Stadium history! It is hard not to fall in love with a band like them. Chris Martin added that Malaysia has the best audience ever, and they would like to come back again! And if they’re able to do so, it’ll be very soon! Will you join in the crowd and become one of the stars of the sky until then?
