Diego Alonso is taking charge of Sevilla.
Alonso succeeds Jose Luis Mendilibar after his dismissal on Monday.
It marks Alonso's first job in Europe, having led Uruguay at last year's World Cup.
He said at his presentation: "It will be the first time I coach in Europe, even if I have experience as a player.
"There is always a first time in everything, I take it naturally and I have prepared for this moment for a long time. I know the championship, when I didn't work I lived here and trained.
"Every coach has his own perspective on the game and his idea: We will try to impose our ideas."
