Diego Alonso has been named new coach of Sevilla.
Sevilla turned to Alonso after being turned down by Marcelino following talks over the weekend.
Alonso was available after leaving his job as Uruguay coach following the World Cup last season in Qatar.
He succeeds Jose Luis Mendilibar, who was fired on Monday.
Alonso is a former LaLiga striker with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Valencia. However, this will be his first coaching appointment in Europe.
