It was a rainy day when I went out with my boyfriend, his family members and a few of my friends. Despite the gloomy weather, we were all looking forward to a nice meal together. However, something ridiculous happened not once but twice.

We had planned to meet at the restaurant and arrived there in separate cars. Once inside, the waitress came over to ask how many people were in our group. I told her there were seven of us. Without much expression, she nodded and led us to a table. But to my surprise, the table she brought us to was incredibly small with only six chairs squeezed tightly around it. I thought to myself, How are seven people supposed to fit here? Clearly, the setup did not make sense.

Soon, everyone arrived and we began flipping through the menu, chatting and laughing as we decided on our orders. We placed our meals and drinks and surprisingly, the food came out quite fast and hot. But that is when the second ridiculous thing happened.

All the meals were served except for my father’s chicken chop. At first, we assumed it was just a slight delay but after waiting for almost an hour, it was clear something was wrong. We asked the waitress politely to check on the order, not once but twice. Each time, she gave us the coldest attitude. Her face said it all, she clearly was not happy to help and looked annoyed just being asked.

Everyone at the table noticed her behavior. I could not help but think, If you do not want to serve people properly then maybe you are in the wrong job. It is one thing to deal with a mix-up but it is another to act like you are being burdened by basic customer service.

Eventually, the chicken chop came but by then, the mood had already shifted. What was meant to be a nice rainy day gathering ended up being a frustrating experience. It is funny how small things, like a table size or a late meal, can snowball into a memorable story but not necessarily a good one.
