
A discussion on the epic poem “Kalijugi Praman Nanak Guru” written by Dr Jagdeep Kaur Ahuja was organised by the Dean Languages at Punjabi University, Patiala, on Monday.
While presiding over the function, Vice-Chancellor Dr Jagdeep Singh said Sri Guru Nanak Sahib had always guided humanity and his teachings continued to inspire people in their daily lives. He said Dr Ahuja deserved appreciation for completing the epic poem based on the philosophy and teachings of guru sahib.
He said every writer possesses creative power through which new meanings and definitions were given to concepts. He expressed hope that the epic would help convey the teachings of Guru Nanak Sahib to the masses.
Special guest Satbir Singh said the language of the epic was simple and lucid, making it accessible to readers. Dr Jaswinder Singh Brar, Dean (Academic Affairs), said the university had been consistently working for the promotion of Punjabi literature and culture and providing a platform to writers and scholars associated with the field remained one of its key responsibilities.
Registrar Dr Davinderpal Singh Sidhu delivered vote of thanks, while Dean Languages Dr Balwinder Kaur Sidhu welcomed guests.
