Kota Kinabalu: Dissatisfaction is brewing in the Sabah PKR camp with a member accusing the party’s election machinery in Sabah of being monopolised by counterparts from Peninsular Malaysia for personal gain.

The allegation was made by Fekirie Gobet in his podcast “Begini La” and claimed he was acting on complaints by branch chiefs in Sabah.

Fekirie claimed several locals interested in becoming candidates were pressured to open constituency operations rooms without consulting their local branches.

“This created dissatisfaction and divisions. Complaints were reported by the Sabah’s women’s and youth wings.

“Banners and billboards were placed for the personal benefit of a certain member’s printing business, often installed in inappropriate locations, including trees, bridges, lamp posts and on roads.

“Proposals to print campaign materials within Sabah which could have saved huge costs were ignored,” he claimed.

Fekirie further criticised the conduct of field supervisors sent from Peninsular Malaysia, claiming hundreds of local field operatives were promised weekly allowances that were not paid for over two months.

According to him, this caused many operatives to abandon their duties, leaving branch chiefs to deal with complaints and dissatisfaction.

In his podcast, Fekirie warned of further revelations if a certain member that is benefitting does not leave Sabah.

“If he does not leave Sabah, I will expose one by one. Don’t think I don’t know what happened at Bay 21” he said, referring to a condominium in Likas. He did not elaborate.
