DMCI Homes is investing around P7 billion in its Solmera Beach Park Resort in San Juan, Batangas as it seeks to tap the seaside municipality’s growing potential as a leisure and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) destination.
The resort, part of the developer’s 7.5-hectare Solmera Coast beachfront estate, is scheduled to open on Feb. 6, 2027.
“We see Solmera Beach Park Resort as an opportunity to contribute to San Juan's growing tourism and events sector," DMCI Homes President Alfredo Austria said.
"Beyond welcoming guests, we hope to support the local tourism ecosystem by creating opportunities for skills development, local enterprise participation, and hospitality-related careers within the community,” he added.
Austria said the residential building and four condotel buildings at the development were already about 90 percent sold, with two condotels expected to be completed and operational by February next year.
Projects currently occupy about half of the 7.5-hectare estate, with the remainder reserved for a potential second phase that will be planned based on market response once operations begin.
Solmera Beach Park Resort is designed to cater to both leisure travelers and organized groups, combining accommodations, dining, recreation and events facilities.
Its convention center will have an approximately 811-square-meter main function hall and 419-square-meter veranda.
Additional event spaces will be available in the Kartika and Bumi buildings, including roof deck venues, while landscaped lawns and open areas will provide options for outdoor gatherings.
The resort will offer studio units and one- and two-bedroom suites for individuals, families and groups.
The resort will be operated by DMCI Hospitality and Leisure Inc., or DMCI Resorts.
The developer is also exploring partnerships with local government units, schools, technical-vocational institutions and community organizations for hospitality training, internships and workforce development.
DMCI Homes is a unit of DMCI Holdings, whose shares closed 0.64 percent higher at P7.90 apiece on Wednesday.
