KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is playing peacemaker amid the recent feud between Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Barisan Nasional (BN) over the distribution of MyKads to undocumented migrants in the state.
“We must be united for the state. Don’t fight. There is no problem between GRS (Gabungan Rakyat Sabah) and BN. If there is a slight difference, it is normal in politics. Don’t worry.
“Don’t add fuel to the fire, it will blow up,” he said when met by reporters after launching the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah International Dragon Boat Race at Likas Bay here today.
A feud between PBS and BN erupted earlier this week when PBS president Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili accused a BN component party for being the mastermind in the distribution of MyKads to undocumented migrants, as revealed in the royal commission of inquiry report on the issue.
This invited responses from Umno members during the Sabah BN Convention yesterday, with Umno’s Usukan assemblyman Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak calling Ongkili “ungrateful” and “crazy” for slandering the coalition.
Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin also warned Ongkili not to play with fire, while former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said current BN leaders are not involved in the act.
PBS is a component party of GRS, and GRS-BN is the ruling coalition in Sabah. – The Vibes, July 3, 2022
