Kota Kinabalu: Children must know their rights when it comes to their safety, health, physical and mental wellbeing, said Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Datuk Chan Foong Hin.
He said children must understand that they, too, can lodge reports if they feel that they are under danger of any sort, such as abuse.
“If you feel unsafe, do not be shy. Do not be afraid. If you are unsure, you can call the number 15999 for help,” he said when officiating a Child Protection Advocacy Programme here.
Chan said as future leaders of the nation, all children are valuable assets to the country and the advocacy programme is a platform for them to know their rights as children.
