Donald Trump has raised the possibility of leaving the UFC Freedom 250 octagon on the South Lawn of the White House after the event.
The octagon is being built ahead of UFC Freedom 250, which is scheduled for 14 June 2026 and is tied to celebrations around America’s 250th anniversary.
Trump has described the structure as “quite attractive” and compared its possible future to that of the Eiffel Tower. There has been no verified confirmation that it will remain permanently.
Trump likens UFC octagon to Eiffel Tower

Speaking in a social media video, Trump drew a comparison between the French landmark and the structure being built outside the White House.
He noted that the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 and was originally expected to be removed after the World’s Fair. Trump then suggested the UFC octagon could follow a similar path.
“Maybe we’ll never, ever take it down,” Trump said, after calling the structure something that would appeal to “a lot of people”.
The remarks do not confirm a final decision. They do show that Trump has publicly floated the idea of the octagon becoming more than a temporary feature for fight night.
UFC Freedom 250 set for White House lawn
The event is due to take place on 14 June, which also falls on Trump’s 80th birthday.
The listed card includes Alex Pereira against Ciryl Gane for the interim UFC heavyweight title, with Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje also set for a lightweight title unification bout.
For now, the confirmed development is Trump’s public suggestion that the octagon might remain on the lawn beyond the event itself.
That gives UFC Freedom 250 an unusual subplot before the first bout has taken place.
