Bournemouth have signed Middlesbrough attacker Marcus Tavernier.

Tavernier has joined Bournemouth for £12million plus a further £3m in bonuses.

Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder confirmed a bid had been received and Tavernier travelled to Bournemouth to finalising terms over the weekend.

The 23-year old winger is expected to be in the Cherries squad for their Premier League opener against Aston Villa this weekend.

He has penned a five-year deal, becoming Bournemouth's third signing of the summer after Joe Rothwell and Ryan Fredericks joined on free transfers.
