Chelsea appear to have secured another youth team signing this week.
The Blues were playing Southampton at home in the Premier League over the weekend.
While they lost the game 1-0 to pile on the pressure on boss Graham Potter, there was some good news for fans.
Per football.london, head of youth development and recruitment Jim Fraser was at the stadium.
He was joined in the Chelsea box by 14-year-old Christopher Atherton.
The youngster has been on trial with the club, and it appears that he is putting pen to paper on a longer contract. The youth talent had a series of shirts with the number 11 on them in his possession.
Atherton made his debut for Glenavon in a 6-0 Irish League Cup win against Dollingstown and produced an assist. He became the youngest ever player in the United Kingdom at 13 years and 329 days and broke Scottish forward, Jordan Allan's record.
