DONE DEAL: End of era - Espanyol sell Wu Lei to Shanghai Port

Espanyol have sold Wu Lei to Shanghai Port FC.

After three and a half years with Espanyol, the China international striker returns home, having made 126 appearances for the Catalans.

Wu Lei feels he has achieved all he could with Espanyol and in Spanish football.

"I have experienced a lot since I arrived here, I entered the Europa League after many years, I went down and then we went up. In the last game of last season I attended Granada's relegation," he said.

Wu Lei leaves a unique legacy, with 126 games played in all competitions and 16 goals. He was the first Chinese to score in LaLiga and in Europe.
