Fernandinho has officially signed a contract with Brazilian side Athletico Paranense.
The 37-year-old left Manchester City this summer after nine years at the club.
He has now returned to his boyhood club in Brazil.
Speaking at his unveiling, the Brazilian said: "We had numerous proposals, from several different clubs, from Brazil and abroad.
"But the most sensible decision was to return home and try to give my best here at Athletico now."
