Manchester United have announced the sale of Alvaro Fernandez to Benfica.
The wing-back had joined Benfica on-loan in January and has now signed permanently.
Fernandez made 16 appearances and scored once for Benfica during his loan spell.
The former Real Madrid junior spent the previous season on-loan with Preston, where he was named Young Player of the Year award.
Fernandez also won the Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award for 2021/22.
