DOUBLE parking can quickly cause delays and frustration, especially when blocked drivers are unable to move their vehicles and are left waiting with no way to contact the owner.
Such was the case for a Threads user who was forced to take an e-hailing ride to work after his car was blocked by a double-parked vehicle.
“Just wondering if the owner of this car has passed away? Because from 12.30pm until 11pm, the car hasn’t moved at all.
“I had to take Grab to and from work and it cost me RM53,” claimed a frustrated Nabil.
What made matters worse was that the car had not been left in neutral gear, making it impossible to move, even after the handbrake was released.

The incident has since sparked lively reactions in the comments section.
“Take a big stone and place it on the front windscreen. Leave a note saying, ‘Today this stone is on your windscreen; tomorrow it might be inside your car,’” commented a netizen.
“What a waste not to use a marker — the car is basically a whiteboard already,” another user joked, referring to the vehicle’s white colour.
Many others suggested that he should have called Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to tow the offending vehicle.
“Bro, you’re too kind, really very kind. If my car got blocked, I would directly call a tow truck or DBKL towing, any towing service that can settle it. I’d feel at peace and the car owner would definitely panic for being selfish,” another commented.
Thankfully, in a later update, Nabil reassured that the issue was eventually resolved after another driver, whose car was also blocked, stepped in and contacted the police.
“Thank you to those who gave tips to call the police and tow the car if this happens again, because before this I didn’t know at all.
“I honked for a solid 10 minutes during the incident and also left a note; that was the only thing I could think of at the time. I’m really entertained reading all your comments. Hopefully the person learned a lesson.”
