DOUBLEDRAGON Corp. (DD) on Friday said that its 482-room Hotel101-Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan was on track to open this December, which should position the company to begin generating recurring revenues in yen as it expands its overseas hospitality business.
In a statement, the listed property developer said the facade of the hotel was already completed while interior fit-out works were in full swing. It added that the opening would follow the March 2026 launch of the 680-room Hotel101-Madrid in Spain, which had already begun generating recurring revenues in euros.
“Following the current generation of euro currency recurring revenue since March 2026 from the opening of the 680-room Hotel101-Madrid, DD is set to start generating Japanese yen currency recurring revenues by December 2026 from the 482-room Hotel101-Niseko,” DoubleDragon said.
The Hokkaido project was said to mark another milestone for Hotel101, which DoubleDragon described as the first Filipino homegrown hotel chain to build and operate in Japan. Once completed, Hotel101-Niseko is expected to become the largest hotel in Kutchan, Niseko with 482 rooms.
DoubleDragon said Niseko was continuing to attract international visitors because of its ski resorts, hot springs and outdoor attractions, while new and expanded direct flight connections from North America and the Philippines should further boost tourism in the area.
The company said Hotel101 Global’s expansion was anchored on its long-term goal of establishing one million standardized hotel rooms across 100 countries through its asset-light business model.
Hotel101-Manila and Hotel101-Fort were said to be posting high occupancy levels, while Hotel101-Madrid was recording strong operating performance since opening in March.
DoubleDragon said 2026 was expected to be its biggest year yet for hotel expansion, with 2,229 additional rooms scheduled to open. These include 680 rooms in Madrid, 519 rooms in Davao, 548 rooms in Cebu and 482 rooms in Niseko.
DoubleDragon shares on Friday rose P0.24, or 2.19 percent, to close at P11.18 each.
