Douglas Stuart and Marlon James lead the Booker Prize longlist

• The longlist for the Booker Prize has been announced, featuring 13 books from authors representing seven countries across three continents.
• Eighty-one-year-old science fiction novelist Michael John Harrison, longlisted for The End Of Everything, could become the oldest winner in the prize's history.
• The list includes three debut authors, alongside established names such as Pulitzer Prize-winner Elizabeth Strout and former Booker Prize winners Marlon James and Douglas Stuart.
• Marlon James and Douglas Stuart, if either were to win, would become the fifth authors to receive the prestigious award twice.
• The six shortlisted authors will be revealed in September, with the overall winner, who will receive £50,000, announced on November 9.
