- At least 95 people have died and 403 remain missing following severe flash flooding in the Rasuwa region of Nepal near the border with Tibet.
- The Nepal Tourist Board reported that 341 foreign nationals are unaccounted for, including 33 British citizens, 133 Indian pilgrims heading to Mount Kailash, 47 Americans, 34 Australians, 24 Canadians, and two Irish nationals.
- Tour operator Alpine Eco Trek confirmed that four of its Nepalese tour guides and a 13-year-old British girl are among those missing, with missing UK citizens ranging in age from 13 to 65.
- Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband stated he is deeply concerned about the disaster, extending his thoughts to British nationals in the region and their relatives in the UK.
- The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is working closely with Nepalese authorities to trace missing travellers and has advised British nationals in Nepal to follow local authority advice and exercise caution.
