KOTA BHARU, Sept 29 — Attorney General, Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, said that the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) arrested last Tuesday on suspicion of drug possession has been temporarily assigned to the Attorney General's Chambers’ (AGC) pool of DPPs.

He said the officer has been relieved of all duties pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation and results of drug tests and analysis.

He was speaking to the press after attending the investiture ceremony in conjunction with the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V’s 56th birthday at the Istana Balai Besar here today.

Last Wednesday, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that a DPP, who had just reported for duty the previous week, was arrested by police on Sept 23 for drug possession.

According to MACC, the officer was detained at his residence, where a police search discovered illicit substances suspected to be drugs. — Bernama
